Flush cutters are considered a consumable tool since, as they are used, the blades will eventually chip. They are best reserved for making notches and cuts where a smooth surface is needed such as feeder knock-outs and door openings. Cuts require very little filing or grinding. For general cutting, we recommend using ordinary diagonal pliers which will not chip under regular use.
